I live In NJ Does Anyone know sol

    when you say statue of limitations What does that mean.My credit card was charged off in 1996.Can anyone sue me?

    NJ SOL= 6 years....judgements are much longer...if they haven't gotten one up to now...you should be fine....

    If you have an old Credit Report look to see what is posted for the date of last activity (date you stopped paying, and were never able to bring the account current again) that I believe would begin the SOL for the creditor to collect the debt.

    Yes they can sue you. You have to raise the defense as Karen explained to you in your other thread. If you ignore it they will get a judgment if you answer with the SOL defense it will be dismissed.
