I've been having some financial problems this month and trying to clean up my credit and today I was totally flabbergasted. I owed WFS/Wachovia Bank only 2 payments on a 8K loan. I called to make payment arrangements because I got into a jam with my bills. They agreed to the payment history but still sent a 30 day late to CRAs and caused me 71 points to FICO the same day I made the arrangements. Iâ??m so pissed I could scream. No missed payments with this company before this one (5 years terms). Any suggestions?

    Hi Eula,
I would suggest that you call them back. Seeing that you've had a perfect five years of payment history and took the initiative to "make good" on your last two payments in a relatively timely manner, it wouldn't hurt to ask the company if they could change the late payment to "on time." You'll never know unless you try! Good luck and keep us appraised on what happens!

Agreed, see if they will give you the "goodwill" of removing this late notation. You've nothing to lose.

Find an address for an officer and give it a whirl. If that fails, dispute it through the credit reporting agencies and dispute the account with the creditor via the "FCBA." They'll have to mask it for a while and sometimes, they forget to unmask it.
