Ok, so I started a new search for insurance and went on insweb.com and filled out the info to get quotes. They stated at the end which companies will give you a quote and the ones that use credit in their quotes. I found that to be the coolest thing in the world. Then, I chose one that didn't use credit and that is Amica. I called them to get policy started and they started it without SS#s but they said that when it comes time to renew, they will need it. They don't use a credit bureau but some service like some cellphone providers that gives a rating letter or something. Then they told me the best thing of all...... They will give you a check back at the end of the year if you choose to pay a dividend amount so that your insurance ends up being cheaper than the non-dividend amount. For us, that amount ended up being the best darn insurance amount that we have ever had!!! With the dividend, the rep said that they are owned by the policy holders and they essentially borrow money and invest it in the stockmarket and return cash back to people at the end of the year. For full coverage, we are paying $835 for a full year but we have to pay in about $1000 and we get the difference or more at renewel time. I have never heard of this and I am happy that I found this company. If you don't want to give your ss#, you have to insist and they will still write up the policy for you. Hope this helps someone.
Ok, george.....you can have that one. My husband said he wanted that one but you got it first... His will be 333333333!!! Forgot to add that they don't require anything down.. just make sure that it's paid off in 10 months. The power one has when you're informed!!
