Retail Card vs. Bank Card? Can someone please explain to me the difference between a bank card and a retail card? Is a retail card a charge card from a store, like JC Penney? I thought I had covered all my bases as far as getting an appropriate *mix* of cards, but then CE shows that I have few *retail* cards compared to bank cards. I have the Sears Mastercard, and I thought this was a retail card. But it seems that CE considers it a bank card. Thanks for any info on this. Calmest_LA
Re: Retail Card vs. Bank Card? Bank cards are cards such as Visa, MC, Amex Retail cards are cards such as department store(Target,Lowes, Texaco).
Re: Retail Card vs. Bank Card? oops, almost forgot your other question. Sears Mastercard is a bank card. You would have to have a plain Sears department store card for it to be considered a "retail" card
