Hey eveybody, Well i posted about a couple of days ago in regaurding about a CA that had placed 3 bad files in my CR, well now i have the deletion letters for all three. I My question to everybody is: 1.Should i FAX or MAIL the deletion letters?Which is better and why? 2.Do any of you have Valid/GOOD Fax numbers for all three CRA? 3.How long does it take before it gets deleted and shown on my score? *I tried using the SEARCH fucntion and it was down* Your help is greatly appreciated!! thanks.
Well, you said you were in a hurry, so mailing them may take a while. Any way you do it, they have 30 days to get it done. I called Experian today, and he did a deletion over the phone. They don't usually do that though. Experian doesn't have a fax #. I don't have them, I have always used online disputes. I'm sure someone has the other 2, or you could try searching again. Just remember, this isn't a quick process. It could take a month or so!!
There was another poster who had the same issue, and their was a lot of info on his thread. It was just on the first page 2 days ago, so it should be close by. If you search for "deletion letter" you garner a lot of results...I sure did.
tracyb, can you give me more particulars about the guy who did the deletion over the phone. What was the item and what was said?
I was only disputing as obsolete. It was due to come off at the end of December, but I asked if he would delete early, that's all. But still, EXP was my worst report, with 2 derogs left, and my report went up 23 points, even w/ the account being so old. I'm happy! Sorry it wasn't a more exciting deletion!!
