I need Help, please!!!

I am disputing a claim on my husbands credit report along with an on going fight with my local phone company. I have been disputing a claim that my husband lived at a particular address in 96/97 and had a phone in his name. I am fighting with the phone company stating that he never lived at that address and has NEVER had a phone in his name. I have contacted the owner of the alleged property and they have verified that the dates in questions were only occupied by the owners and never my husband. the phone company insist that I file fraud charges against the owner. which I refuse too. because they have had their phone for over 10 years, long before this claim. Further more, my husband has requested proof from the phone company all past bills and payments made to the account. They have repeatedly refused to furnish this information. This has been going on for almost 6 years. (I have only been involved for the last year on this case.) I am at wits end with this..I have been recently reading about all the laws. I have disputed this for the 2nd time with the CA. I am still getting no where with them. I am waiting on my last dispute to be sent in the mail. I have filed a complaint with my state utilities commission and on my way to my state attorneys office....It is very hard to prove where my husband lived during this time since he was staying at a friends house during that time frame and his roommate had all utilities in his name not my husbands... the phone company is asking us to furnish all this proof of a different address that the alleged, but at the same time refuse to send us proof of bills.......any suggestions or am i on the right track... because if I have to hire an attorney, I will sue for restitution on the past 6 years of damage on the CR. all the high interest, turn down for loads etc....

Thanks alot for replying....I am very new at this...I am waiting for that one phone call from my local Utility commission in which I filed a complaint yesterday. I am prepared with some of the laws and ready to state my case to the commision if the return call is negative. I know about Snet being in violation with the law and not proving that an invesigation was ever done and that they have never provided us with any written proof that the account ever existed. not past bills statements etc. I also know that they are in violation of the FTC with not providing this information. I am also on my way to file and sue the CA for accepting this false information from the phone co. even after I have disputed with them 2x's on it. I am prepared to file the police report against them and all my complaints all the way up to the state attorneys office and at the same time find a good attorney.

if you have any other suggestions please please let me know.
