I recieved a letter from FOCUS receivables management for my settlement of $1500 they only gave me 1 day to pay this amount otherwise my settlement will be null and voided. Shouldnt i atleast have 1 week to pay this and have an option on some type of payment plan...

First things first; if you just received the letter, then you have thirty days to dispute and request validation of the debt (for being your responsibility and accurate for amount claimed owed).

Offering a "settlement" is a business option for a collection agency, they are not bound by any terms and conditions, until you mutually enter in a negotiated contractual agreement. They can offer a "take it or leave it now" settlement option.

Send off a letter of Debt Validation Request, see samples here on this forum. Keep it simple and direct, and send Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested (CMRRR).

Sounds like a scam. Even within the same city a piece of mail could take up to two days to get from point A to point B. Did you call them back and ask them how the f...k they expect a piece of mail to get to them, especially if you live in a different city or state?
If they suggest a "phone Payment" - you giving them your banking information, tell them to shove it.
