CC Counseling and Credit Score!!!!!!!! I'm new to the site and I found a lot of resouceful information here... I incurred debt when I was in college: one cc that states $1700 and I was suckered into a CC Counseling Agency... Now the CA is asking for a settlement fee of $559! I have not yet contacted them to be honest I am now just trying to rid any debt history.. However I must admit I owe them, but my question is iwill it be a good idea to pay the settlement.... Secondly, I starting to find out that the CC Counseling agency is a bit like bakruptcy... To be honest never had much debt...In all with past due cc and student loans my debt is on average $17000...student loans being $13000 of that....(which I have always paid on)...It became a reality check when I decided to apply for a loan and was denied....So since then I have reqested 3 reports next is to receive my scores boy am I scared.....In this situation how long will it take to build my credit? Please give me some help to resolve my situation and to build up my credit so I can help others along the way and later purchase my dream house...
