I have a multitude of things that are wrong with my credit, but I am trying to do the right thing (supposedly) and clear things up. The first order of business: A judgement was entered against me and my sister for a delinquent joint Discover card. A representative from the lawyer's office contacted me and asked me to make either a settlement or payment arrangement with them to satisfy the judgement. I agreed to the payment arrangement, but I also asked the representative to send me a copy of the judgement. She sent the letter stating that I agreed to the terms of the payment, but no copy of the judgement. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get down to the courthouse to see if the judgement had been awarded or not, but I wanted to know that if in fact they weren't awarded the judgement, do I have legal grounds to sue for misrepresentation?
