Hello, {-*-sobs-*-sobs-*-} I paid my cable bill on 04/08/2003. When I pulled my CRs, the cable TL was put in collection. I disputed with the CRA as balance incorrect. If I would had found this site earlier, I would had validated first. Anyways, in early May I called CA and fax the paid receipts and then disputed balance of the TL with the CRAs. After reading this site, I became frantic and quickly launched a validation letter to the CA on 5/27/2003. Well, the balance of $576 verified with EQ. Now what should I do? I paid the account in full with the OC. Please help me! -- hreid
Get WRITTEN PROOF from the cable company and send it to the CRA and the CA... OR MAKE THE CABLE COMPANY CALL THE CA AND TELL THEM TO FIX IT~~IT IS THEIR JOB!!!
Should I send a letter instead because I called the cable company twice. There has to be some type of FDCPA violation. How did CA verify the balance. Gees, I faxed the paid receipts to the CA. I want the TL deleted now! --hreid3
Re: Re: I Paid my Cable Bill! Have you called the cable provider, tell them you are trying to get a mortgage or something. Thats what works for my company, we call the CA for the customer and they pretty much delete or have the CA send a letter.

You ave a receipt from the OC stating the balance is zero? Why not sue the CA under FCRA for knowingly posting false information in your CRA file?

I just called the Cable company and then called the CA. The CA rep was nice to me on the phone this time. She sounded so sweet... Anyways, she told me that they deleted the TL on the CR. Maybe, there is hope after all! -- hreid3
