It is official! As of this morning my Emerge/Providian account is now 0 Balance and 0 credit limit! Yaaay! I also closed out HHB with their measley little $300 cl. HHB asked why I was closing when I've only had the account 8 mos. and I told them interest was too high and cl too low. They offered me a drop in interest to 15% and said I was already approved for a CL increase. Well, I laughed at them! Told them 15% was still way too high and I wasn't PAYING for a cl increase. Also told them that when I applied I didn't apply for a "sub-prime" card and if I had known at that time it was sub-prime never would have activated it. They supposedly closed it then but it is still active on-line so I will have to wait and see.
Congrats Imp! It must feel good to rid yourself of this Providian/Emerge debacle that has sucked the life out of so many people who got transferred to Emerge card.
