    Hi all,

Haven't posted in quite a while but thought I would share my experience from having my Amex platinum charge account reviewed.

I was really upset when they called me and said I was under review. I charge thousands a month and I have never paid late. When I cooled off a bit and called back I got some good information.

For those of you who are facing this, the man I spoke with assured me that the goal is not to close accounts or even place a guideline of any sort. He also said they only consider placing a guideline if someone refuses to send statements or appears to be in real financial trouble. That surprised me. I thought they automatically suspended accounts if you refused to send the statements. Apparantly my account was flagged for having doubled my normal spending pattern over the last few months. They also requested my business certificate. (I am a sole proprieter).

I faxed in the documents and it was painless. The rep called me the next day to state my account was released and that I could continue charging. It was a relief. I really didn't want to lose the flexibility that Amex offers me or the 9 zillion membership rewards points I have been saving forever for a big trip.

Anyways, it was irritating that they requested the info in the first place but I am glad I didn't just close the account out of anger.

Just thought I'd share my experience with you. I wouldn't even have gotten the card in the first place if it wasn't for this board! :)
