Or when you get a great BT offer but can't take it because you need the cards for purchases? I am currently using (actively) two Visas and one MasterCard, plus some gas and retail cards. In addition, I have two cards with BTs on them. One is at 3.9% for life, so I'll probably never pay more than the minimum. I can get more than 3.9% elsewhere, so it does not build wealth to pay off that card. Just because someone has a lot of cards doesn't mean they're in trouble.
