I've memorized all my CR's and I'm working on DH's. I was looking at all the inquiries on his and noticed an AR for a company I KNOW we don't have an account with. I looked it up and it's for a personal ad mailbox company. So I got on (thank goodness it's free for women), and heard his AD! I think it might of been better not to have found you. LOL! It's really not funny, but doesn't surprise me. On a good note, I mailed off to have incorrect names and addresses removed.(These are the ones that EX wouldn't do over the phone). Hope they're are corrected by 8/17 cause that's when I'm starting my batch from your advice.
That's awful Melissa! My dh's sister got **somewhat** motivated to start picking up her credit awhile ago based on me and dh. WELL......that was a MISTAKE! Apparently, she found a charged off CC on her dh's report that her dh claimed to have known nothing about. Upon some investigation into these cc charges, they all took place at a ((strip bar)). Her dh adamantly denied, and the dh's sister **says** she believes him, but I don't think she really does.....I know I don't. But in any case, I wish she never found the charges, I feel kind of responsible.
What I don't understand is how the DW was able to investigate charges on a CC that belonged to DH. Sounds like invasion of privacy, or something. Not defending anyone's actions, it just seems like realy slack security if you ask me, if anyone can start investigating charges and stuff on someone else's credit cards. As far as finding your DH's personal mailbox ad, that had to have been a hoot, but I hope you gave him hell over it. What was he thinking! FedUp2003
By the Way, How many years younger and pounds lighter did his ad say he was than he really is? If his ad said he was thoughtful, a good listener, liked quiet, romantic, candlelight dinners, etc ... then you have him by the short hairs! hahaha Please keep us updated on how many candle lit dinners and bubble-baths you get in the next few weeks, cause surely you are going to make him live up to his claims, right? He's 10 years younger, but that's the only lie. Actually I casually mentioned something about it last night (He did this a year ago.) I asked him if he wanted the greener grass. He said he new there wasn't greener grass, but sometimes he liked to imagine there was. Sometimes I wish we could afford that Harley and little red corvette. I'm not b@@ching or moaning. We are married for better or worse for at least 46 more years.(I count down on those tough days.) Well, I did spreadsheets and we started with 133 neg accounts between the 2 of us in Feb. We now are down to 93. Those 40 came off without you guys and gals, so I can't wait to see what the future brings.
In my sister-in-laws case, legally, there was no invasion of privacy for her to look into her DH's charged off account. FDCPA has a provision that gives the creditor permission to speak with the spouse: But, a spouse will have a difficult time convincing a current/open creditor, specifically a CC, to discuss their spouses debt with them. Remember, the FDCPA does not apply to Original Creditors --OC's. I have been able to, with no problem, discuss any accounts placed into collections on behalf of DH, but have always had to have DH sitting by the phone to give me permission to discuss his OPEN CC accounts. So...I guess the moral is...if you are going to do **bad things** and don't want your spouse to find out, just make sure these bad things were not done on accounts placed in collections, the FDCPA will not protect your privacy
