Guys, I want to pay an OC back for a bad debt. However they sold the debt to a scum agency. Anyone ever convinced the OC to buy the debt back so you can pay them and not the scum agency ?
Ohhh...good question...I wrote to Amex (oc) about my charge off to see if they will take it back in house. Still waiting, I will post when I get the results. I figure they just might as I believe the debt was only assigned to CA, who is not reporting it yet- trying to nip that in the bud- and I have been paying on it for over a year. We shall see, be interested in anyone's info on this type of thing.
I too would like to pay back an OC. It was assigned to a CA, but it "accidentally got deleted" from the Cra's. I am afraid if I pay it off (in full) it will show up again. Too risky to pay it off now. I am going into my fifth year of being late on this account (it was charged off five years ago), in two more years I will pay it off, should be safe then.
