Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: I Will Settle Your Discover Card!!! LOL I don't know that I would descrive myself as a friend of Ayn Rand, but I like her works. I've read Anthem, We The Living, The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged, and a few of her short essays. I agree with a lot of her philosophy but accounts of her personal life (at least from the side of that one guy, Nathaniel something or other, make me think she was bipolar ;-)) make me wonder what was going on in her head. -edit by chuckd 8:35aEST- You know as an afterthought, I had never even heard of Ayn Rand (with the exception of the derogatory mention in the South Park episode where Officer Barbrady (sp?) learns to read) until about a year ago when I got married. My wife read to me, OUT LOUD mind you, Anthem, The Fountainhead, and Atlas Shrugged. I have since re-read them on my own and I frequently find myself thinking that I wish I had known about these books earlier, say during my high school years when I would read anything in sight (although mostly sci-fi books). I think that it would have helped a lot with the problems I had during my adolescence. But oh well, I know about them now at least, so I guess that's good enough.- end edit- Butch, I'm guessing you live in Columbus? What's up with all this rain lately? I live out on the east side (Blacklick/Reyburg area) and we've seemed to miss most of it. But at my job (Westerville, now in Hilliard) seems like we get rained on every day. Too bad I don't have a garden or something, I bet some vegetables would be doing great right about now ;-) As far as the settlement with Discover thing, I appreciate having a few people stick up for me! I was starting to get depressed and very tired from trying to defend myself. Guess it pays to have some friends, even if they are in cyberspace only Thanks again guys (and gals) Dan
Re: Re: Re: Re: I Will Settle Your Discover Card!!! Hey that's cool. I wasn't trying to make anyone feel obligated to do this, I just at least wanted to make the offer. If someone doesn't want to do it, they certainly don't have to. I will say one (hopefully) last thing, I have gotten a few emails from people asking if I can help with their already charged off accounts. I really truly honestly CANNOT do that. I wish I could, but I don't even have access to the accounts. Discover cards systems are all really pretty point and click type applications and when I try to pull up a charged off account a little box pops up that says something like "this account is written off, refer cardmember to discover recovery department" And that's all I can do. I wish I could help those people out, but I don't have the access to do so. Peace Dan
