I won against Gulf States, they had two collections on my reports, both for the same accounts, for something that did not belong to me. I sent a certified letter and today got the green card back and a nice letter from Gulf States saying these would be deleted from my file at the next update. I am thrilled, this is the first batch of CL I did and I am hoping they all turn out this good. Thanks for the advice!
Congrats!. Gulf State is a bunch of morons and crooks. For them to admit a mistake is quite an achievement. Just make sure they follow thru with their promises.
Thanks for the kind words, I had two old collections last week that were deleted that did not raise my score a single point so I doubt this will either. It was only for $18 so I doubt they really wanted to fight over this, but they did list the account as 4 times 90 days late, the *******s, so perhaps it will gain me just a few points. (This account was listed from 1998)
Congrats. Watch out for these guys. They sent me the same letter ie we will delete and close account, then sent me a dunn letter 30 days letter and failed to delete.
Can't this just be faxed to the credit bureau's and they will delete it? They actually sent two letters, both saying the same thing, they were from the Portfolio Support Department. I am going to fax them tomorrow so maybe they cb's will take them off that way.
Guess what...probably not bonded in your state either...I am in the same state as they are and they don't even have a BOND!
