IC Systems is trying to collect for a bank I had a savings account with back in 1999. I did not have any sort of "automatic debits" or billpay service connected to the account. This bank is claiming I owe them $237.05 in NSF fees. Impossible. I disputed this debt back in 2000 when I rec'd the first "dunning" notice. Since then, it's shown up on all 3 CRAs but it does say the account has been "disputed by the consumer". I've since been able to get this deleted off of EQ, TU and EX won't budge. Here's what's been going on recently: 1/3/03 they rec'd my 1st req. for validation 2/2/03 they rec'd my 2nd req late Feb- I receive a hilarious validation attempt. Basically, they claim to have provided it and now they want their $$$. What they provided was a fax from the bank stating they needed my signature to investigate. 2/25/03- I send them a 15 day demand notice. Prove it or remove it. On Friday I receive yet another impartial validation. They've provided me with the copy of the application I signed when I opened the savings account and a letter from the bank stating the full amount is due. Nowhere does it break down this fake amount and show me how it is I owe them anything. Again they demand payment. I have had it with these idiots. It becomes more apparent I'm going to have to file suit against them to get anything done here. Should I file in small claims or go to circuit court with this? Perhaps I need to see if my state (Illinois) requires one or the other due to them working out of MN? Would their continuing to demand payment while not providing FULL validation be considered a serious enough violation to warrant a decision against them?
