I have read that having a PO BOX in your identification information on your credit report has a potentially adverse affect on your credit. I currently have PO BOX but am going to close it and do not want the PO BOX number on my credit report to be there anymore. I need a strategy to get this off. I am afraid that if I cite my closure of the box and ask for its removal I may be flagged by an internal system of security at the credit bureau. I also would like an apartment address where I broke a lease (I only lived there a month) to be totally deleted. If I pay an attorney a couple of hundred dollars to write a strongly worded letter, will that do the trick? Let me know if you have had any experience removing or correcting identifiers on your credit reports. Thanks.
