If a woman answers, hang up!

    I had an offer in the mail a few weeks ago for a 2K CL increase for $99 from Providian, and hadn't sent it in. I called retention today, and some woman said she couldn't implement it, and transferred me to customer service, where I was told that the offer had expired. I then called retention again and a man answered, who told me that HE could do the CL increase and that it hadn't expired.

    I decided to wait until next month when I was up for review and see what happened. I asked about an APR decrease, and he told me that NOW Providian would be handling the APR decreases the way they handle the CL increases, by mail...which I assume means they will start charging for them!!!

    The only reason I keep these accounts open is for the ratios.

    AND, I've said it before, keep calling until you get a man to answer at retention!
