What happens to the accounts that you may owe nothing to. Like business accounts that are personally guaranteed or maybe an AMEX charge that you use and pay off for business expenses every month. Can you just not include those in the BK, and if not will they just close them anyway after their next Account review, and see that you have filed. And do those good accounts stay on your CR and keep reporting as good?? A bit confused about the whole process, THANKS!
You only inter the accounts that you want discharged in BK. Good trade lines i think stay on your CR for 10 years and you might want to call the accounts to find out what there policy is i would only do this a few days before you are ready to file with the courts.
what about the couple personal cards that I have that have zero balances, does the courts make you close these or does the issuers close them for you once they see you have filed
The court won't look at anything but assets or what you owe unused credit is nither you won't even have to list them.
thnks for the replies I guess what i was fishing for is how creditors that werent listed in the BK filing react to one of their customers filing BK I have like I said before an AMEX charge for business that I keep separate from my personals a well as a b of a account for overdraft protection for my payroll account. I wonder if they will close those after I file even though I am not going to incude them, again thanks for the info
They wouldn't know unless they are doing soft pulls of your cr's or you tell them. The court only sends out info. on the people you place in your bk. It is of public record but that is only picked up by the cra's.
