If I dispute the amount of a negative TL, and the CA doesnt respond within 30 days, is the TL deleted? probably a dumb question, but I gotta ask.
In my experience when disputing, if the CA doesn't respond it is deleted. What exactly did you dispute? Did you dispute as not mine?
i disputed as 'not mine' it got verified. now they wont let me dispute it again (CSC/EQ), so Im thinking of disputing the date instead, if I can get deletion results with any dispute that isnt answered within 30 days, Im going for it. I want to dispute it for CHOD, but I also want to dispute it for my validation letter.
According to FCRA: Treatment of inaccurate or unverifiable information. (A) In general. If, after any reinvestigation under paragraph (1) of any information disputed by a consumer, an item of the information is found to be inaccurate or incomplete or cannot be verified, the consumer reporting agency shall promptly delete that item of information from the consumer's file or modify that item of information, as appropriate, based on the results of the reinvestigation. By "item" in the FCRA, we can assume they mean TL. CRA can "modify" the TL only if the CA responds with a credible information, in your case the amount. If the CA does respond, then the TL would be updated with the correct amount. If the CA doesn't respond to CRA, then the TL would be deleted. I was wondering why are you disputing the amount? I hope you realize that you have admitted to CRA that this is your account and you are just disputing the amount. I could be wrong with my presumptions. credit repair gurus (i'm not one) can probably enlighten us more.
