If I knew then, what I know now....

I have been paying a CA monthly payments for over a year now. They list the DOLA as 2/98.

Found an old CR stating DOLA is 6/96, so I began paying them after the SOL was up.

The OC is no longer listed on any credit reports.

I have no contract with the CA for my current payments.

What really burns my buttons is I sat down with all my statements (since I began paying these idiots same amount each month) and the fees/interest they charge me on this account go up and down and up and down($36,$21,$61,$37)They have never listed what these "fees/interest" are. Every month I receive a new statement with only a new balance.

I also found letter from CA trying to collect on this account three months before these bozo's bought the account. The amount due increased almost 1,300.(on a 3k debt) when Bozo CA bought account.

I have just DV'd this CA.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

I informed the CA in my DV letter, that I was not paying them while the account is in dispute.

Siop throwing your $$ down a rathole, send them the SOL letter from my website, if you were paying by personal check or (Heaven Forbid !!) direct withdrawal from your checking account, close the account and reopen, preferably in another bank.

This is beyond sol so you don't have to pay them a dime.
The account is past sol there is nothing to dispute you don't have to pay it .CASE CLOSED :

My fear is I restarted the SOL by paying them. I never had any formal agreement with them regarding payments. They asked me how much I could afford to pay them monthly, I told them, they agreed.
Unfortunately, I knew nothing of my state's SOL at the time.
