What was your score when you got approved and did you have any Collections on your CR? Also.. how many other cards did you have at the time that was reporting up to date?

    Thanks

    MartysGirl,

I don't know what my Equifax score is and I don't have any charge-off and collection accounts in any of my credit reports. I have too many cards at least 12 cards. If you have collection accounts , they may give you Target Card.

My FICO from CE was about 630, not sure what was TU at time of application. I did have a bk-13 on file from 1996 and a Citibank charge-off. The Citibank debt was part of the bk but the CRAs kept listing the debt as a charge-off, which lead to a bk-13 and a charge-off on my reports.

Target Visa approved me for a Visa with a 6k cl at 18.99%

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

Target Visa definitely pulls Equifax. They look for 660 and above but if you get turned down, wait until you have the turndown letter in hand and call in for reconsideration. They are able to pull EX in those circumstances is necessary or maybe you can talk them into it if your stuff isn't too bad.

If you are automatically approved it is possible to talk them into a higher limit.

Can you elaborate. I got my 15.9%, 1500 CL....my HH income dwarfs what I see being approved for 10,000 CLs here. I was actually thinking about cutting it up and trying the automated line again.

Call the customer service department, be confident, tell them that your spending patterns demand a higher limit, ASK 'em. They won't jump through the phone and kick your ass...

    They denied me...

My PG Equifax score was 664 and they pulled Equifax. I have a CH13 from 1998. The denial reasons were:

    Bankruptcy
    High Balances
    Account Age

I know, I should have disputed the BK before I applied, but I wasn't thinking.

The letter contained no number to call for reconsideration. Should I call a number on their website, or just use PFB? Is there even any reason to bother trying for reconsideration?

I have had a Target guest card for almost two years now, with a perfect payment history and they have even increased the limit to $800. (That letter came on the same day as the denial!) Original limit was $300, then $500 and $700.
