If you were offered a chance to upgrade to the amex centurion at their fee of 2,500 would you do it? It seems that a lot of people are debating whether they would upgrade to platinum if given the chance, but seem reluctant to do so either because they dont perceieve it as a hard card to get or because they wouldnt want to spend the 395. How about for the centurion? Would you pay the 2500 if given a chance. I think I probably would for one year for the thrill of showing it, but probably after that I would downgrade to the platinum because it is more affordable.
Good point, probably not. Fortunately, I live in one of those major cities so now I just need to be offered it.
No - but I would pay for the PLAT - if its offered when the reports go clean this OCT. In 90 DAYS - I will have reports showing nothing but perfect credit. I can hardly wait.....I've been waiting since Oct 1996 for this moment. BUT - luxury4me - I get a GREAT RESPONSE when I use the JCB Card - er, ah - at the few places that take it. The card is quite stunning......LOL! Particularly with no annual fee and 1% cash back. arfff - I do like the JCB Card. They also report accurately to all bureaus. aarff - dog-san
I guess I can see the appeal of the JCB card. The excitement comes because its so exotic. It suggests frequent trips to Japan. For a while as a student they used to have a student card cfrom the Bank of Hawaii and I kind of wanted one at the time because that seemed exotic too. Do they look funny at you if you are not Asian and are carrying the JCB card? I guess there still are a lot of places you can use it in NYC.
I WOULD "IF" I GOT 10 MILES PER $1.00 ON ANY AIRLINE FF PROGRAM (BT/PUR/CA) $2,500 COVERS ALL FEES OF ANY KIND...INCLUDING CASH ADVANCE FEE...FOREIGN EXCHANGE FEE...ETC UP TO 4 FREE COMPANION TICKETS (ANY FARE) PER YEAR FREE TRAVELERS CHECKS $50,000 MIN CREDIT LIMIT 0.00% FIXED BT TILL PAID OFFER 1.99% FIXED REVOLVING SUB-ACCOUNT (IF YOU WANT IT)--SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY IN FULL EVERY MONTH...
I don't have any CC's...I sure as heck wouldn't pay $2500 a year for one either...even if I was offered one in person by the CEO of AmEx.
I imagine if I were to be offered it, it would be because I was meeting the annual spending quota on my Platinum card. So in that case, I would assume I would then be in a position to regard the $2,500 fee as chump change. Ergo, it wouldn't matter, and I would accept the card.
