hi all, hope everyone is climbing the ladder to credit heaven!!!
my hubby and I had a completely discharged BK7 almost four years ago, and HRC continues to report faithfully to all 3 credit bureaus. a couple of the bureaus at least show that they were included in BK and have zero balance, but on one it shows charge off-past due, etc.
are there any letters or proceedures to get them to stop? i figured getting them off the CRAs would do any good because the creditor would just reinsert it the following month.
is it OK for them to keep reporting even though it is a done deal almost four years ago? i feel like they do it just for file-poisoning purposes....to keep dirty laundry "so to speak" at un updated status.
would appreciate any and all thoughts from your brilliant nut gallerys!!! (smile)

    Well, you have two options:

    A) Send HFC a copy of the BK that listed the debt, showing them they need to update. You could also call their credit dispute dept and talk to someone and hopefully fax over what you have.

    B) Send the CRAs a copy of the BK and they should fix it to 'included in bk' for you.

B is bad in that if you do that, you'll never be able to get the BK off. I would definitely try A first. You really want their records updated correctly, so that later on you can try and get it off altogether.

Don't forget the advantage of CHOD.
