I sent a letter to Trans Union asking them to give me info on their verification process, because they verified a very old account of mine, and updated it to include more 30 day lates, even though I called the creditor and they told me they cant access the account because its too old. I get a letter today from TU saying "if you are using a credit repair service, please know that some of these companies are being investigated.......etc". What do you guys think this means? I know some other posters have gotten this, was there any fallout that you know of? Also, I called Experian to find out about an entry that has been noted as "consumer disputes under FCRA." The date of my report is 2/13/01, so I ask the rep when this will be concluded. She says your current dispute is scheduled to be concluded on 4/22/01. I asked her why this note was on this item, and she couldnt tell me. I asked her why, if it was listed as under investigation on 2/13, it would take till 4/22 to resolve it, and she couldnt tell me. Then she says (!) "I am looking at your dispute record, which is quite long, and I see you have had a number of disputes, may be there was some confusion, since you have so many." What does that mean?! I am sort of freaking out here, I dont want my reports to be labeled or flagged, I am wondering if I should lay off the disputes. I have followed the rules as far as spacing them out 60 days, but Im kind of worried that they will see them as frivolous now. (I've been at it about 8 months) Opinions, please? thanks
personally I have never sent in the 'how did you verify and names and address of verifiers...etc. letter. I have just waited 2-3 months and then submitted another dispute. Transunion is weak. They are just sending out a bluff. I gave transunion a rest for several months. I got crazy accounts deleted from them at one time. I have stayed on equifax the most and they have never sent me such a letter. BTW. When I called experian in the summer a rep said the same thing to me...lol I said to her, "I sure do have a lot of disputes and deletions, you guys had my file credit ALL screwed up. I am glad we are getting closer at reporting my file accurately." That shut her ALL the way up and she entered my dispute on the spot. DONT GET SPOOKED. Its not he CIA...lol roni
bluffing... They are bluffing you into BACKING OFF!!! THEY ARE TIRED OF BEING TOLD THEY ARE REPORTING STUFF WRONG!!! THE CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES MAKE THEIR MONEY FROM FROM THE BUSINESSES, NOT YOU, UNLESS YOU BUY A CREDIT REPORT... MAYBE THEY ARE BEING INVESTIGATED BY THE CIA???

Re: for earlier. thanks guys, i feel better now or trans union I am down to only 2 old bad accounts, perhaps I am being a little over zealous and should lay off them for a while. The thing is, I was going to join Junum in late May, after things cool off, but I think now I will wait till maybe the end of the summer, as you have suggested Roni.. Experian just drives me nuts. Their comments are always so poorly written, and they seem careless to an extreme with what they report, but they are my worst report, every bad thing I ever did they know about they do have a lot of negative stuff from a family member on their, so most of my disputes had to do with that, I am starting to think they are hopeless..maybe Junum can put a hitch in their git a long
Re: for earlier. I got the same letter..I'm totally blowing it off and letting Junum do its thing....I think its a bluff, someone sent out a memo saying "include this paragraph with all disputes."
