I WAS WEAK - but I'm still a good person dang it!!!!!!!!!!! Okay - I have broken my oath and applied for a free checking acct and "personal line of credit" from safeway select bank. BUT I CAN EXPLAIN!!!!! I didn't apply for a credit card - it was for a checking acct and they just happened to ask on the application if I want a LOC (cough Never had a personal line of credit before - just credit cards - so I looked up their terms and it seems to be very reasonable - 5.75% - only on the amount you use - in other words you write a check from your personal line of credit account. Okay - so I could justify myself here and say I DIDNT APPLY FOR A CARD - but I knew I was being baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. The weird thing was on their site - after i clicked submit - it said that due to an internal error your appplication cannot be processed at this time" and i was kinda relieved - thinking i shouldn't have applied anyway - however - yesterday when i checked equifax - sure nuff an inquiry from CIBC Amicus - which provides safeway select with financial services. Now that the damage's been done - does anyone know anything about Amicus? Good, bad, generous with LOC? Thanks in advance Mark LA

I know, I know I feel totally defeated, worthless, ruined, wrecked and ravaged. AHHH, the agony, once again.... New oath starts today: no aplying for ANYTHING (aside from new car in November) 'til February 2003!
Nah, nothing yet. Called their cs number - they told me my application isn't in their sytem yet - they checked Equifax on Friday - told me to call back Monday. My equifax was 715 when they checked so I'm figuring there's a decent chance of getting something - but who knows - banks decisions seems so random at times... Someone wrote here a few days ago that they make you go into a Safeway Supermarket branch with a banking booth inside. The only Safeway in my area is about a 20 minute drive away - so if they tell me I gotta apply in person - I'm gonna let it go. On the other hand - they did check my credit report - so that might be enough for them. I'll keep y'all posted Aside from that - hows the Virginia Goddess doin?
