I started credit repair back in October but had to postpone due to some family issues. I'm now back on the band wagon and ready to pursue this endeavor. A few new questions: Since my last posts I've settled one of my CO's with capital one. I still have one left which is much more and is being bounced around between CA's thus creating more dings on my CR's. I just received a notice from truecredit that it has been taken over by another CA but I have not received a letter from the CA (this may be because I've had to move out of state and they may not have my current address). Should I go ahead and send this new CA a DV letter and see what happens or just let it be until I'm in a position to afford to pay a settlement amount? Also, I've had a tax lien showing up on all three CRA's that has recently been paid. I have the letter from the court that reported it stating that the account had been paid and I should send a copy of the letter to the CRA's. Should i do this? Could I get the CRA's to remove this account or will it just remain as paid? Right now, the account says "released" on all three CRA's but not "paid". Is this the same thing? My main concern is receiving letters from lawyers on the other delinquent accounts because they've noticed I've paid some of my others. What should I do about these letters.....to send or not to send?
Released is the same thing as paid, I have some bad news for you, a paid tax lien stays 7 years more after the release date. You can try to dispute it, look for errors in the reporting, try to get it deleted.
