After this weekend I'm 100% out of the sub-prime world. After working on cleaning-up my credit I finally was able to get rid everything sub-prime. My First Premire card is now history. Yee-ha.

    I know carry an:

    AMEX-Blue ($5000 limit)
    AMEX Green
Bank of America Choice Hotel Rewards Card ($5000 limit)
    Target Card ($300 limit)
    Shell Gas Card ($700 limit)
    Washington Mutual ($2000 limit)
Orchard Bank ($1700. I know this is sub-prime but when I called to cancel they waived my fees and lowered my apr. So is it still sub? I don't know)

I think I know have a good mix and my search for cards is now over.

it took a little over a year. i was lucky to have the amex card and orchard bankcard for awhile and didn't really use it during my dark period. When I seriously started my credit rehap i was at an average score of 585. i'm now sitting at an average of about 690.

i didn't take any shortcuts. i paid everything that i owed in exchange for deletion.it was a lot of hard work. but in the end it was worth it.

i wouldn't say that it feels great. more like a huge cloud has lifted. i now know that i never should have been in this situation to begin with. and i never want to be there again.

Congratulations. Now build your limits without using the extra limit and that will help your scores.

    Paid off for Deletion

I would like to work at this for my own credit. That seems like a slippery slope to navigate. How does that all work?
    Thanks.

Magnus, when you got your Wa Mu card, which bureau did they pull and what was the score? Did you go to their website to "get my visa" per an invitation you got in the mail? Was it an auto acceptance or do they process and get back to you? I've never worked with them. Thanks!

WAMU sent me an invitation for their card. I believe they pulled experian.

I was not approved instantly took about a week.

To be honest they are my least favorite credit card. Customer service is ehh.

how exactly does "pay for deletion" work? Can someone point me to a previous posting that explains it?

If I've already paid is it too late?

Let's make sure I understand you, you actually paid these balances off in full or you settled the debt ex. AMEX Blue $6000 but you settled for Say $3000 to have them delete it?

How did you go about doing this? I have two CAP 1 CO's that I would like to take care of. They have not been paid yet. What steps did you take??
