First of all, let me say thanks to Reshod and mother2, who helped me with this purchase. As of yesterday, I'm now the proud owner of a new Acura MDX!!! Woooooohooo!

Okay, enough of that. Now, Cap One will not quit. I have 2 - a MC and a VISA. I get an application in the mail for ANOTHER Visa, with 0% APR until Feb 2002 and afterwards 14.9% fixed interest rate.

How, this is better than any of the other CapOne cards I have but 3 Cap Ones? I just want one with a high limit, low APR. It said I was guaranteed...don't know about all that though! The Aceeptance Certificate has a SSN spot and a signature. That's it.

In lieu of recent car buying experiences, should I get this card?

Anyone have any experience combining Cap One accounts? Both are Gold Status. But like I said, one is a MC the other a Visa. I just got the Visa about 2 months ago. How long should I wait to combine, if it's possible?

    Thanks

wait 6 months on both cards from time of last credit increase. Basically what cap 1 does, is give you a line increase of #1 card to #2 card, then shut down #1 card. Any balances on #1 card will hold the account open but no available credit. They do not transfer the balances.

This is considered a line increase on #2 card, they may throw in a few more bucks on top of it all on #2 card.

Planetfeedback is the way to get this done. Mr miller.

I just paid off my #1 card after having it merged for 4 months, They are in no rush to close the #1 card . The balance due is still minimum payment!

    anything else?

    Congrats Shantel....

    "Where's the Party At"

Maybe we can have a SUV party......

    You deserve it!!!

And forget CAP1, I never did like them, but this is a very biased opinion.

I left them in 1999 after limited increases and a poor credit line.

Never Again, will I grace their PRESENCE~

sam is tellin it right. I did the same. Actually I just wanted to close the account, got Xferred to retention, they did it. The old account stays open for 1 month with a zero balance too.

I'm waaay late here, but thank everybody. I love it...it drives like my car did. Doesn't have that "groaning" sound most SUVs have (like a truck). Comfortable...I'm very pleased. I researched this car for many many months and have been planning for a new car since last August.

Thanks for the AcuraMDX.org board...I'll be sure to check it ou!

Oh yeah, about Cap One...I thought someone here said that they combined both cards?

Sam, when you combined, did you keep the one with the best terms? Did you have that choice or did they make that decision for you?

Thanks again for all the well wishes. People who know me will tell you...things are going really well for me right now. I can't remember when I was this happy. Life is great!
