I'm posting this from an imaginary computer using a windows 7 operating system. By this time next week I should also be able to have my imaginary server up and running. Then I can do lots more with the entire imaginary system. Just like this imaginary computer has it's own IP address, so will the imaginary server. It will be able to host websites just like a real server can. I can set up whole server farms using imaginary servers just like Google and others do with real server farms. Not saying that I would do that but I could. The Windows 7 operating system I am using is the beta version and will also be known as Vista 2. It is much, much better than Vista 1 ever thought of being. Much easier to use and much more stable. I have lots of great ideas for my virtual server(s) but as of yet don't know whether my grand ideas will actually work or not nor how they will work if they do. I'll just have to play with it and see what can or cannot be done. If nothing else I'll have great fun playing with it.
Got a virus? Just thow the computer away! Got a virus? If you are running a virtual computer instead of a real one you simply delete the infected machine and install a new one. Costs you nothing but the time to put the new operating system in place, install windows on the new machine and away you go. If you only have one real computer you can have many virtual computers sprouting from the original, each with it's own operating system and it's own memory. One gets infected just delete it and all the files whether infected or not are blown off the system. A virus cannot spread to your main computer. You do need large amounts of memory and lots of hard drive space to do that but one and two terabyte hard drives are not all that expensive anymore. All your virtual computers can be on a virtual network so that files you want to keep are on a separate hard drive system. I have one old slow computer with very little memory but has 8 hard drives on it. That acts as a file server and of course has good anti-virus protection on it so that infected files can never get on the hard drives. The only real problem when you have when you have 8 computers, 7 extra hard drives all cooled with an overhead box fan, 3 printers, 5 TV sets, 5 air conditioners and more is the size of the electric bill each month. Summer time bills usually run about $300 to $500 a month.
