My cat has been pre-selected by Discover for a no anual fee, 0% APR card with up to a $50,000 limit. (honest!) Her offer expires 2/15, so I guess she'd better hurry up and get a SS#.

Now, this is amazing. I got 6 letters from Citibank today. 5 are welcoming me and 1 is declining me becuase of multiple applications in a 60 day period.

So I call 'em and ask why so many letters and um, I only applied 2x within 60 days (doing the infamous BDD)....?

Well, apparently I had that many applications! When I applied, I kept getting an error message that my application couldn't be processed - and to try again later. It gave no indication that my application had been processed.

So I tried again later and same thing. Repeatedly.

I finally got through and was approved for $9,000 for the silver. Immediately applied for the Gold and got the 'we'll let you know....".

Well it turns out I got approved for 4 Citibank Silver cards and declined for the gold (becuase of all the other applications). I got approved for 3 at $9,000 and 1 at $5,000.

I was told to call back after I get ALL the cards to see about combining them into one card.

Added bonus? I got a ding on my report for EACH card.

Got my hubby's report today and he got 2 inquires on his report, 1 for silver one for gold.

Still chuckling over my cat getting 'pre selected' from Discover....

You got pre-select offer from Discover because they meet criteria from one of your credit report. They still check your credit to evaluate creditworthiness. They're not going to approve you without pulling your credit report.

Ron, how would my CAT meet their criteria?? LOL.... I know she's not gonna get a card <g>, I just think it's ridicules that they are sendine mail to my CAT (who is only 4 by the way, and couldn't be bound to the repayment terms anyway!! <g>)

Wow, 32k in citi limits all at once! That's great! I'm surprised they let you get 4 cards at once, I thought they only allowed 2 apps in 60 days - strange.

Did you have any citi cards already?

    Congrats!

I'm stunned at the 4 cards - guess their website screwy-ness worked to my benefit... at least as far as total credit limit - as far as inquiries, it's not a pretty site. But maybe I can get those off since it wasn't my intent to apply for that many cards? Worth a shot anyway.

Nope, didn't have any other Citi cards.

That's what one of the many letters indicated - no more than 2 applications in 60 days - so I really don't see how I'm getting a total of 4 cards because all the applications were within a 24 hour period..., but it's sure gonna do wonders for the ratios!

    Ozzy.

    Thank you. =-)

That is AMAZING in this case that ERROR would go to the "CARD HOLDER"

AMEX LOC it's the OTHER WAY...ERROR GOES TO AMEX...(NOT OUR PROBLEM)

I figure it's compensation for all the cussing I did when the website kept locking up on me..<g>

Hmmmm... wonder if hubby and I can combine and then have a $50,000 limit??? Hmmmmm....
