I sent Sears a letter indicating that they were in violation of the FCRA because of an inqiury they pulled on me for no reason. Today I get my updated Equifax report. Sears is still showing - after 4 months of letters and disputes- that I was with CCS. I was with them for 2 months, then paid the account on my own for 2 years before it was completely paid off. This notation did not correctly reflect my payment stataus with them (except for 2 months in 1999). The acccount was paid off in 2001. Am I just being difficult or since the account wasn't paid by CCS, shouldn't the notation reflect that? Now, is it wrong to get on Sears' butt about this too when I just sent them a letter? How long do I have to wait to get this situated? I did talk to them last week and they said that as of the beginning of February that they notified each CRA to have that taken off. My equifax report is dated 2/24... and Sears responded to this dispute by saying the account was closed by consumer and the CCS notation is STILL there. I've provided a letter to Sears and the CRAs indicating that my CCS account was closed in 1999. I'm at a loss as to what to do next - I'm banging my head up against the wall. I have proof that we ended the relationship with CCS before the account was paid - but Sears refuses to see it. Ozzy.
