Recenlty I have found out that if an item is in collection it cannot be open.. if its been charged off it cannot be listed as late. What else should I be looking for in the report that would make the listing inaccurate?
Also if it is inaccurate what steps can I take to have it removed.. if I have it removied on this basis can they re report it just more accuratley the next month?

-Hmm, where did you get this info?

-If an account is charged off, it HAD to be late at some point, and the creditor is allowed to report the lates.

-DISPUTES with the reporting agency- See FCRA 623 (b)

i think you mean they are not reporting it as charged off - they are still reporting it as being late. the only thing i can recommend is not disputing it as being charged off, but maybe simply dispute the late payments.
