What does inactive credit card use mean to your credit status? Iâ??m going to be on maternity leave starting at the end of March, so Iâ??m planning to zero out all my balances soon. Iâ??ll not be working for at least six months, and so if I can avoid it, I wonâ??t use the cards, as income will be too tight. Will this hurt me in any way?

First off congrats on your new baby:) I don't think a 6 month period of not using will hurt you very much, atleast 4 of my creditors only update my reports every 3 months, so I don't see this as hurting you. And also if you want to show some activity then you could charge gas, we all need and use this and have to buy anyhow, and then pay it off at the end of the month. You could rotate cards if you want to keep them active.
