I hope someone can help me on this. I have been trying unsuccessfully trying to get an item off my credit reports. I've spent over a year contacting the credit reporting agencies with little success. I get the standard "The account has been verified as yours." letter. Finally, in July, I requested formal Validation from the collection agency. Their only reply was a form letter that included My name, mailing address, and last 4 of SS#. They identifed original creditor as Citifinancial Independent #3. The establishmnet date is 10-02 with the collection agency purchasing it from "Seller" on 9-05. No further identification. The account nor the account number listed DOES NOT APPEAR on my credit report prior to the CA reporting it. A copy of the report from 2004 shows no such account. I have sent letters with documentation to all three crdit reporting agencies and recieved the same "we have contacted the CA nd the debt has been verified as yours. I've asked for documentation and recieved none. I might want to point out that the SOL on this debt has already passed. What's my next step. . Thanks for any help
