I screwed up just before my credit repair campaign and was 30 days late on a credit card. Equifax and Experian show it late in June. TU shows it late in July. If I understand correctly, a strategy is: 1. Write to the credit card company and tell them that they reported inconsistently, showing different months on different CRAs 2. If they pull my credit to figure out where they screwed up, it's not a permissible purpose and I can sue for $1K I heard this theory, but it really doesn't seem to make sense to me. If it was me, I would simply send the info to the 3 CRA's again and be sure not to screw it up this time. Thoughts?
Sounds about right, but don't tell them where the reports are inconsistent. If you tell them the location of the mistake, you effectively remove the reason for them to impermissibly pull your CR. What exactly would you send to the CRAs, and what would you expect to gain from it?
