I looked into the Ca Civil code and found this about gym memberships:
1812.84. (a) A contract for health studio services may not require payments or financing by the buyer to exceed the term of the contract, nor may the term of the contract exceed three years.

I have been trying to cancel my membership with Linda Evans ever since my contract was up. Unfortunately, I have only been writing on the statements I receive to cancel my membership across the top. My contract was up Feb 02 and they are still sending me bills. For the term that before my contract was up they sent me to a CA, I included that in my bk as well as Linda Evans. So they can't collect on that. I think they are using unfair billing practices here. First of all they don't have a contract to make me pay and when I included them in my bk it canceled all my debts with them.

I am writing them a letter to cease and desist and copying the code into the letter. Is there anything else I can or should be doing?

    Thank you.

File a complaint with the Ca Attorney General.
