Why isn't Innovis required to provide an annual free copy of one's credit report? Don't they meet the FTC requirements?

I ordered my report yesterday, and it cost me 5 dollars and change. Supposedly they're bastards to deal with when it comes to disputes. I'm awaiting its arrival with a sense of dread, because who the hell knows what's going to be on there.

Who here has dealt with Innovis, and what have your experiences been like?

    That's a good question.

For some reason they believe they're exempt from FACTA, but for certain states (like my home state of MD) they will send you a free credit report each year.

I know some people have had success just writing letters and requesting a copy under FACTA.

Not many entities report to them and even fewer lenders pull them. They're fairly easy to deal with in terms of requests for re-investigations.
