Do the CRA's maintain records of a dispute, and if so, for how long. How much information does their records (if any) contain? I'm wondering if anyone has ever disputed something as oh....say "never late". The CRA verified the late as accurate and then you disputed the account as "not mine". Once you have in a roundabout way accidentally verified an account for them (ie by disputing an account as included in bk) is it possible to successfully dispute in the other direction (ie I have never filed for bankruptcy)? Thanks! L
Whyspers, I dabbled a bit in disputes over a period of about a year in '99-'00 and tried "not mine" with mostly every negative on them. Most were still too fresh to come off, though a few did. Then I pretty much gave up till this March and have had quite a lot of success both with mine and hubby's. I even have old EX reports that say the "verified 4/2000" line and still things have gotten removed by disputing them as not mine. So I would venture to say they only keep a record of your disputes for a limited time, or else they follow the FCRA and actually dispute for you when you ask them to. Take your pick
