Hi guys, I have been busy with school the past couple of weeks but I wanted to get your opinion on something.

Is there any recourse if the credit B will not remove unauthorized inquires? In my first dispute they sent me a lame letter telling me to dispute with the original OC but I do not know who these people are or anything about there companies. Just yesterday I got an updated report and two inquires were ADDED on to the report from 1/22/2001 and 1/19/2001 that were not on previous reports from United Jersey Bank. Should I bother sending disputes to the Credit B or should I send a nasty letter threatening to sue the companies who pulled the report unlawfully? thanks Diane143

    Hi Diane,

Hope you're doing well with school.

The CRA's have developed a posture with regard to inq's.

Since they are, in fact a matter of reality they won't even entertain the idea of investigating them. They tell you to go to the OC.

Simply demand that they (OC) provide you with the proof that they do have permissable purpose to pull your report.

This is assuming these are not PRM inq's., which is permissable and no biggie anyway.

Don't need to be nasty, "yet".

    :)

How could I go about doing this? I am afraid of giving them(OC) too much personal information such as access to my credit report but what they did is unlawful because it is showing up as a hard inquiry. The inquires in question from 2001 were added to the report in the past month because previous reports do not list them. This leads me to believe that it is a CRA problem. Any suggestions? Thanks Diane

Your report should tell you whether they were hard inquiries (allegedly initiated by You) or soft inquiries (Promotional Inquiries for marketing products to you or Account Reviews by current creditors or CAs)

If they're soft inquiries, you shouldn't have to worry. If they're hard inquiries, you can ask for proof of permissible purpose from the "OC" or demand that they delete with the CRA. Which CRA showed the inquiries? They use different language to describe them to you.

I did notice on Experian, though, that the Hards have a specific date (month/day/year) and the Softs have a month/year listing. Any help?

they are definatley listed under hard inquires. It is a TU report and they have added this info with other hards that I am also disputing because they were not initiated by me. The only hard that should be on there is First Premeir. The other four are totally false.
