When I pull my own credit does it take away points?? My husband swears it does and was told by either Equifax or Experian that if you pull it, it will reflect on your FICO....I just disputed some items with EQ and want to see if they have affected my score at all but don't want to risk losing any points!! (I've already pulled 2 X)

pulling your own report in no way affects your score- it is a soft inquiry (any soft inquiry does not affect your score)

The space available for inquires is LIMITED...if you do a bunch of inquires..."SOFT" it will eventually BUMP OFF "HARDS"...known as "BUMPAGE"

I have been using Privacy Guard for bumpage and it works great.

USUALLY 3 "SOFTS" are generated per dispute...so do ONE AT A TIME (on-line...if possible).

    Re: Inquiry question

Does anyone know how many EX holds before the bumping starts?? I had a landlord pull credit 5 times in one week and lost a ton of points from her doing that! Trying to gain some of those back now
