   When applying for new cards, how many inquiries in the last 6 months would be considered very bad and could result in a denial ? Is it 3, 4, 5 or more ?

   It all depends on the credit card company...2 may be too many.
   Some people have actually been denied for "TOO MANY INQUIRES IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS"...ZERO!?!?!?!?!!?
   
   Others have had 14+ and still got the account...
