1) Wait two years 2) Challenge any inquiries w/the party that inquired - CRAs will not dispute an inquiry. Search under "PP" or permissable purpose. 3) search for "bumpage" .
This is sooo not right, Dan ... 1) It's two years only for employment purposes, for everything else is one year preceding the date on which the request is made. 2) Any person, even me, can request your CR. It's the CRA obligated by FCRA to give away your CR only with PP. So it's the CRA you have to dispute it with. Besides, usually you get something like "HBNA NV CT", "CBUSA/UFC", so you never know who actually pulled the inquiry. It's the CRA obligated by FCRA to give you the proper identification. 3) Bumpage: "Removing your inquiries one at a time from your report using the 'amass so many they get bumped off' technique".
I disputed about 12 of mine on Equifax cause I did not apply or recognize the creditors and Equifax removed them all. It may be worth it to try to dispute thru the CRA's first and then if they don't remove then dispute via each individual creditor. I found TU did not remove any and I had to write letters to each creditor to remove them.
