Could someone please give me some advice on how to handle this? I have two accounts listed on my report that I am disputing: one from the OC, the other a CA the OC sent the account to. I am disputing because they are both showing a balance and from my understanding the OC should now show balance zero (0). The account was sent to the CA 1/2003. The CA has a REGULAR INQUIRY (HARD PULL) on my report dated 6/2005. I called Transunion and she explained that the CA can do a HARD PULL when the account is first transferred. I explained to her that this was not the original transfer as she could see from the dates....almost 2 1/2 yrs later. She said talk to the CA about having it removed. What should I do? How can she tell me that any time after the original transfer it should be an account review then in the same breath tell me that it's okay for them to pull the report 2 1/2yrs later? Heeeeeellllllppppppp, please.
I have a similar situation. I just called the CRA last week about many things, and this was one of them. maybe this will help: I have 4 hard pulls listed. Three of them say "permissable purpose", and the other one, from a CA says "collection purposes". I wasn't sure if the collection purposes were allowed and wanted it removed if it wasn't allowed. I was told by the lady at the CRA that a CA does have the right to pull your CR for review if they have your account. But I'm still not sure about this. Anyway, the person you spoke to told you the same thing, and then it sounds like she was saying if you want it removed the only way to do that is if you can convince the CA to remove it. I'm still checking to see if they have the right to pull it to review as long as they have the account.
