This was for a motorcycle I purchased. I had it for about 6 months before it was stolen. After it was stolen I paid the remaining amount of $13,744 off.

I got the bike in 04/2006 account was paid in full 11/2006. But on my credit report its showing up as opened and closed 04/2006. It is also showing payments in 2005? then one in 2006? I never had the bike in 2005.

I don't want this removed I just want the dates changed.

Are there any sample letters I can send them? I searched but couldn't find anything.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Why do you want the dates changed? It's not a negative item on your CR.
Think about it - it's actually a real positive item - purchased a big ticket item one year, and paid it off the following year, and it shows steady, regular, on-time monthly payments.

I would think the same thing. It actually would look really good on your CR. It showed that you made a pretty large purchase and quickly paid it off. That's all positives in their minds.

The general rule of thumb is, if you dispute a perfectly positive TL for inaccuracies - it will be deleted rather than corrected. LOL

I was just worried because some months have an OK in the box on my CR then there are a few with X's. But I guess ill leave it alone, it says paid on time never late, account closed/paid off.

One question though. On one credit report its showing the loan as 21k and the others have 13.7k. Any idea why that could be?

Was the original loan amount 21k?

All the x's maen is they got lazy and didn't report it if you look at the rest of your report you might see it other places.
