I think it wouldnt be a bad idea for us to maintain a thread about instant online approvals. Any comers?
I just got instantly approved online for a CitiBank Dividend Platinum Select card. Limit is only $1300, but I'm only 19 (very short credit history). I am hoping to contact them later on to raise my CL. What are my chances of getting a CL increase and how hard is it to get this card?
I have a couple questions? What report did they pull? What state are you in? What is your credit history like? FICO? I would like to apply with them. Thanks.
1. I am not sure what report they pulled, how do I find out? 2. I live in Maryland. 3. My credit history is short. I am only 19, and until recently have only been a joint card holder under my parent's name for their CCs. I recently applied for and use two cards - First USA Smart Visa and Fleet Cash Rebate Card. The CL on the First USA was just recently raised to 5k from 1.5k; the CL on the Fleet is 2.5k. I hate Fleet btw . My FICO is in the lower 700s, very high 600s depending on who you ask (check sig).

Mos def-- Citibank is one of the easier of the prime cards to get but it's a very good one. Customer service is excellent. They usually give CL increases every 6 months (more or less). If you don't get one without asking, go to the website and ask for one at Account Management. It may appear there automatically and prompt you to accept it. If not, you have to fill out a form and they will pull a hard inquiry. It's better to wait for them to offer it because there is no hard inquiry.
I just got approved for a Target Visa, $1500 cl, 18.9 % interest (but no annual fee, unlike some Cap 1's, so I'm cool with that). Not thrilled with the interest rate, as my Cap 1 is at 10.63%, but what the heck. My scores are TU 622, Eq 670 and Exp. 691. I think it's a great idea to post about instant approvals - if other people wouldn't have been posting about what they've done lately, I would not have attempted to apply for this card. Ozzy.
