I have seen on various sites where instant credit decisions are available just by filling out the application. On some, though, it says that if you're a college student, you are ill-advised from applying using this method. Why is this? I understand these applications must use credit scores to make a decision, but what is the deal with college students?
Most places that offer credit to college students take into account that the applicant is a college student when scoring your app. The automated system doesn't seem to be able to do that, so a paper application is scored with a curve while a online one isn't.
