I e-mailed Choicepoint regarding 2 inquiries within 2 weeks. They pulled them on behalf of Nationwide for a home owners policy and this is the response I got: "Nationwide ordered on those 2 separate occasions and we have confirmed with Experian that both inquiries do show up. We are not authorized to remove inquiries from the files of a credit bureau if we did indeed receive 2 separate requests such as in this case. However, Experian has said they will consider removing the 2nd inquiry if you have Nationwide fax us an explanation (on Nationwide letterhead) to 770-291-3140, attention Wanda King. Wanda will then work with Experian on your behalf to attempt to get the inquiry removed. Informatively, insurance inquiries and inquiries for consumer disclosure purposes are counted as "soft" inquiries since they are not for application for credit and therefore do not affect credit scores. Although they will be listed on the consumer copy, they are ignored for scoring purposes based on coding in the account number since many types of inquiries such as promotional, direct marketing, etc. are also ignored for scoring purposes since the consumer did not apply for any credit, etc." Funny, they don't show up under the "soft" category. Gib
Yeah, methinks that "fact" is industry spin. It shows up under "hard" and is seen by potential creditors and other insurance companies.
"HARD" IS A F.I.C.O. KILLER... You can ask them WHAT DOES YOUR CREDIT HAVE TO DO WITH INSURANCE??? THE MORTGAGE COMPANY PAYS THE BILL IN FULL EVERY YEAR REGARDLESS OF WHAT MY CREDIT REPORT SAYS OR DOESN'T SAY!!!
